Now a dark star mechanic is something else.
When in a close proximity of a low dark star(bottom one) it WILL bomb you with 3.9k dmg, on top of that, if you aggro it before explosion, it will buff up to 5k.
The high dark star isn't a problem though, but it does 8k dmg in an explosion.
They don't jump or move. You cab really just use hog and jump then they explode after your at the bottom already.
Again, they gave 10k and give you no dmg if you kill it in 1 hit.

Corsairs should never get hit by powered up Dark Stars or Blood Booms. We attack Pap from the ground, so there are no High Dark Stars. Pap can't get within range to stun or dispel us and our Octopi kill any of the Stars that we can't take care of. We shoot right through Booms.
