Note that 4chan would never allow any of its memes to become popular in the general public. Unfortunately a papaya came along and took all the "Caturday" pictures, renamed them under the retarded label "lolcats", put them on a site, and proceeded to make money off of dumbshits thinking anything is funny. This is also why Mudkips, Rickrolling, and SHOOP DA WHOOP also fail now, although to a lesser extent because at least they're not making money.
