My first laptop (an HP) is still going strong after 6-7 years of use. When I was the one using it, I used it MANY hours a day and played MS frequently (among other things). My second laptop (almost two years old, also an HP) is absolutely perfect. She's very fast, works solid and handles anything I try doing on her. I spend in excessive of 10 hours a day, nearly every day, using her. That often includes or is solely MS.
Sounds you like guys need to stop buying crap or learn how to take care of your machine.
