From personal experience (well, I didnt get a gaming laptop, just an all-purpose one), laptops, if used excesssively die in roughly a year. Maybe it's HP's problem, but the two HP laptops I had that I used for hours upon hours a day both died within 1 month short of a year (thank goodness for warranty) so... yeah, just keep that in mind. Laptops arent made to be used as a desktop in my experience and using it as so will make it not very durable.
