The goggles were created because Alloy was drunk and decided to make a thread in which he'd MS-paint-edit goggles onto peoples' avatars. I'm pretty sure he wasn't thinking "wOW I REALI HOPE THIS WON'T GET SAGED LOL!!1!"
The fact he used MS paint so skillfully, not to mention the fact that it happened for at least a few days until he actually spread that drunk thing makes me doubt the fact he was actually drunk.
Unless he drank himself to the literal brink of death almost constantly for those 2-3 days...
