It sounds like most of the people in here have never owned one of each.
I don't really care for dogs that much. They need as much attention as a newborn child all the time. I don't enjoy having to bathe a dog, the smell of wet dog is.. oh god, absolutely terrible. They constantly beg for your undivided attention all the god damn time. They can't care of themselves all that well without your help.
I feel like cats are a lot more low maintenance, therefore are superior to me. I've owned plenty of cats before and I just keep on getting about the same results with all of them. They all seem to have small bouts where they want attention and want to play and other times they don't. I leave them be when they don't want attention and if you do long enough, they'll surely come find you and lay with you. Claws never seem to be too much of a problem for me. All the cats I've ever owned all had a scratching post and they don't tear up any of the furniture. Yeah, some cats are troublesome to bathe, it mostly depends on the cat. I've had some that don't care when I do bathe them and I've also had some where they'd act like getting bathed was bloody murder to them.
I'd like to take the time to share a little story with you guys.
Lately I've been having to watch my brother's cat while he is out of town. This cat literally hates everyone except for my brother. Every time I'd try to pick this cat up or play with it, it would run away and hide and if you tried to pick it up, it would rip your face off. It has been about a half of a month since I started watching this cat while my brother was out of town, just the other day this cat jumped up in my lap, which is something it's never done in the four or five years that he has had this cat. Just today this cat did the same but also started purring too and was kneading as well. A few of you may be thinking "Well you're feeding it, that's why it likes you LOLOL DERP." I don't think that's really true, this cat in particular doesn't care about eating too much. Every time I put food in its dish it doesn't come running to the food dish. I almost thought this cat wasn't eating at all for the first day or two I was watching it, but sure enough I'll check the food dish and it does eat. Oh, and one last thing before I forget, I am only feeding this cat some dry food, for some reason this cat doesn't eat wet food all that much so I didn't bother feeding any to it. I hope to god that this cat doesn't revert back to its old ways when my brother gets back from his trip.
