I once was jabbed in the knee with a pencil. The graphite broke off and burrowed in pretty deeply. Every so often, I would try to re-open the long-since-healed wound with tweezers and a razor in an attempt to remove the remaining graphite. I ended up getting most of it, though it took me about 6 months. After that whole experience, I realized my fascination with pathology. I've successfully removed a cyst from a friend's back and 2 moles from a cousin. I know I could never be a doctor or a surgeon, though; my hands tend to quiver and I'm afraid of blood sampling.
