THANKS FOR THE EVENT NECKSON, YOU CAN SHIFT THE RATES BACK NOW IF YOU WANT."
haven't read the rest of your post yet but I saw the end and realised/wanted to say I've been so busy crying about monster book and protesting against Nexon that I haven't taken advantage of any of the 2x events since the last patch.
((edit before posting: okay now I read it all. Of course it's going to take an obscenely long time to level to the highest level, yes that is part of maple. But all of these events barely put a dent in the overall time spent playing for anyone hoping to get to a high level. It'll never be as easy as a 10 minute grind over level 50. It'll never be a couple hours for players over 100 (without 2x events and such.) But there's no reason it shouldn't be less than it was before the curve. It's the reason that almost every other version has this curve implemented permanently.
I guess you haven't noticed but to me it seems like most of the people in this thread are against removing the curve because it is very agreed upon that it doesn't remove much from the game except saving some time, so I don't see any piss being turned to steam except a couple people desperate to hold onto hollow achievements or can't accept that things won't stay the same forever, 'cause if they did the game would stagnate.
