At least across-the-board changes don't make 90% of the game obselete. And you think that the casual gamer will actually find out anything by themselves, or work harder? They just go to the new training spot and spam their skills there, same as has happened every time something better comes out. If anything, new training spots have often dumbed down the Maple experience. Consider standing on the SUV at MP3, spamming Heal. Easier than running a max tele route at Wraiths every 20 seconds, eh? Heck, even H/Voodoos was easier than Wraiths, and I got 3hko'ed at H/Voodoos when they came out! Consider Windraiders. Heck of a lot easier than MDTs, wouldn't you say? Himes isn't completely easy, but it requires less strategy than Gobies, for sure.
As for me, I love the curve. I never thought I'd make it this far. If only Nexon would deflate the cost of MW20 and Gen30 somehow... And no, I'm not going to whinge about how "it's Maple on easy mode" or "they're getting rid of the last challenges in this game" if Gen30 is 100m, because that's pineappleing ridiculous already for my main attack skill. If I want a challenge, I'll get good equips or merchant or something, not struggle just to get to 4th job, or to get my main attack skills. Similarly, I'm not going to whinge about the EXP curve letting me get better EXP at 13x that I got at 6x back at Wraiths, because playing at 13x is more fun than playing at 6x. I can go boss now. I can help my friends with quests. That's what this game is about to me...
Call me "casual" if you wish. Maybe I am. Far be it from me to suggest a game should actually be fun.
The old training grounds are still totally trainable. What, you want no new content? New training spots are going to tend to be better; otherwise people wouldn't go there. They've already done many map revamps. Luster Pixies actually have a pretty good map layout now, for example.
Like I said, levelling is supposed to be open-ended in this game. Once you get to a certain level where the benefits of levelling no longer seem worth the time investment, you plateau. If 13x is more fun than 6x, you shouldn't need to level even faster to enjoy it
You guys complaining about the hours it takes to level at high levels don't seem to understand the concept of not training your ass off to level in one day. There's not some sort of training mode you have to be in to gain a level where you start at 0% and mindlessly kill things in a set pattern until you level.
