Not all people want credit from others for their accomplishments. It's nice, but believe it or not many people *gasp* find a sense of self-satisfaction at accomplishing a personal goal with some kind of achievement like Lv. 200, at which point anything extra is just icing on the cake. You don't HAVE to do things simply for the applause and adoration of others; do something for yourself for once.
That's why I'm still going for 200. My goal is to be in the Top 50 of my server, Top 500 overall, and just to be able to quit the game saying I reached the maximum level. If people want to applaud for it, I would humbly thank them and be even more pleased with the accomplishment, but it's not like the only thing I'm going for is impressing others.
Life can be quite depressing if you only do things to earn the respect or admiration of others. Do something because YOU want it, not because of the potential fame attached.
