lolwut? The bluray player in it was actually a smart move in the early release of the console, as it was the cheapest player there was. Theres soon to be ~150 hundred dollar players out though, so the production costs of the players, mainly their laser components, have gone down considerably. As well, one of the main reason BluRay did well, was because it is able to hold more data than regular DVDs, allowing for more game content to be put on them as well.
Plus, i love being able to watch Superbad in highdef and then switching straight to playing LBP
