Here is my side on all this...
There are proofs that things do evolve. You see it all around. We have evolved into what we are today. However, there is no possible way this all just "happened". I have entertained all different beliefs and have seen what's real and what's just extremist. There are many that are religious that are far off the mark because they believe in a holier than thou mindset. However, while "some" things of evolution are true, that doesn't mean they all are.
Let's be honest...a random occurrence that created everything we see today in perfect form is just unbelievable. Also, alot of things with evolution have been disproven, and the "facts" behind them have been debunked. I'd suggest if you have a mindset dead on one side or another, take a step back and consider all possibilities. I don't believe many things in the Christian faith are real. I don't believe many things in the Evolutionary teachings are real. What I do believe is that we have evolved (as humans, not from another species) and we are here because of an intelligent mind, be it God or some other force.
I don't think believing one "magical floating guy in the sky we can't see" is any more ridiculous than believing that everything in existence today just randomly was created because of a "big bang". If I showed you a beautiful work of art, which would you believe: a masterful artist painted it, or it just "happened" on its own. However, time for the coin flip thing...
