Where Do You Want To Go To College?

[COLOR="DarkRed"]I guess it's partly because the top US Colleges/Universities have become more and more picky about who they choose to go to their school. For most people, you need to have multiple schools you wish to go to because your top ones are probably everyone else's top ones, so it's quite hard to get selected into them.

When schools are quite popular, they have a plethura of people to choose from, and they'll pick the most well-rounded individuals that apply. The schools are basically putting us on the chopping block when we apply comparing and contrasting every individual.

but in the scheme of things, does college matter that much? i mean yes it will give you a tertiary qualification that will boost your first job pay. some jobs require a tertiary qualification because of the nature of the job. but three years after the novelty of your new career wears off, it doesn't matter what college you went to, it's all experience and "the rest" of life. (right? or is it different in america and do people still compare what college you went to long after you graduate?)
