Does anyone actually buy Aura Rings?

Nope no interest at all in a measly 4 stats. No matter how you look at it 4 stats isn't going to do much of anything.

Well if you AP reset as a str shad then it actually may be worthwhile.

STR shadowers/CBs get LUK, DEX, and STR from them, so 3 stats per ring, 4 times, thats 12 stats, nothing to laugh at, but its way to expensive to refresh 4 rins every 90 days along with the stat resets that go with them.
