I used to go without a pet just because I never have lag when I loot, however the pet DOES make things a lot easier and convenient and I use it to improve killing speed more than the "because I lag and cant loot fast" excuse (which I used to think was the only reason to get a pet).
That being said, I used to not use wing boots but after getting them for the Maple Crystal event, I find them very useful, as now I dont even have to move past something to loot it, it'll just go loot it itself. Ive never tried the binoculars, but chances are, if I get them, I'll be addicted to those as well =P
In summary: Item Pouch, Meso Magnet, Winged Boots
This reminds me of a funny story. After I teach piano, I let my students play ms while they wait for their dad to come pick them up. His dad got them a $10 nexon card for Christmas and my student lets his idiot brother to convince him to buy a penguin, a scarf for it, the porgy things to increase it's closeness and...magic scales -.-" That's all he had for his pet... no item pouch, no meso magnet, just magic scales. I was like "you do realize magic scales do NOTHING if you dont have a meso magnet and item pouch, right?...
I was like *facepalm* "NEVER LISTEN TO THAT STUPID BROTHER OF YOURS AGAIN"... it was that time that I also figured out who actually bought those meso bags in cs, lol... (He ended up buying the gold bag cause someone else gave them another 10 card for Christmas x_X)
Edit: I personally dont believe in using them as Im old school enough to manual pot, but Im surprised no one has talked about the use of auto hp/mp before.
