You turn in your chicken (or duck) on Saturday. Between Sunday and Saturday, you must get a Growth Powder from the NPC Admin on the weekdays and apply it on your egg/chick daily. (I got a blue notice message saying this after training for a while; my chick is probably doomed because I missed Wednesday T_T)

[SIZE="1"]I could have sworn you or someone else pulled up a quest string saying that you get a reward for growing chickens five times. That's five weeks![/SIZE]
