You should look at the first 1 minute of the video they linked in the post.
He activates the skill as soon as he enters at around 0:08. His HP turns purple, and then he gets hit by a 1HKO attack (blue ball) at 0:47 and his HP bar turns red and he does not die. At 1:08 the skill goes off cooldown and then he uses it at 1:12 to again, turn his HP bar purple.
