Can someone explain to me the need to be represented?

What a terribly problematic thing to say! We should have equal representation in all ways! In fact, it should go beyond, and not have representation that reflects the real-life percentages, but have it where we have equal parts of every distinction! And don't talk to me about "historical accuracy", it's a fantasy setting, things can change!
