Honestly they're not so much scary as they are tedious and frustrating. EO felt like the game completely started over every time you started a new stratum except without the initial lack of experience from random encounters. EO II isn't so bad but there's actually more grinding involved because every class has a skill dedicated to stat ups (HP Up, TP Up, STR Up, etc) and quite a few skills require x level in x Up as prerequisites.
I love EO4 and I really do need to pick it back up and beat the extra boss and final dragon but Im not sure I feel like grinding that long also I'm sad I didnt like the last job as much as I thought I would.
