I still play Elsword now and again.
The stuff you have to pay for is not as important as you might initialy think.
The real issue with the game is the economy, it makes Maple look like a paradise. Luxury items cost several times the currency cap and there are no good ways to do those trades.
Playing casualy, the game has no such big issues that should hold anyone back though.
