of course in these times getting to 4th job isn't that hard (pqs and leeching) but the originals (before we had a decent population of AM and Bish's) fit this idea quite well in that they didn't have anyone to get them to their genesis without the hardships
this tends to happen in almost all mmorpgs that the weakest/support class gets the best endgame "reward" be it an awesome skill or great weap to increase dmg to them only or something along the lines that they start lowest on the totem pole only to end up as top dog for dealing with the position for so long
You're delusional. Clerics/Priests/Bishops ARE a support class. They had a hard time to 120 in 3rd job? At least they didn't have to solo like most hermits and archers! Genesis has overall weakened bishop playing skill. Now when they go to bosses they don't know what to do, or really suck because they've been standing in one spot spamming genesis, and think that's all that matters in the game anymore. I've even had a bishop in my party at Horntail that when I asked him to cast Holy Shield, responded with "holy shield sucks, i maxed mana reflect >.>", he was level 17x. 4th job has turned bishops into just another damage-whoring class.
Where's my ultimate for having a hard time getting 1-12x?! I even have the worst mob skill in-game!
Bishops have nothing on Archmages with elemental wands, but bishops are taken to bosses regularly. Why? SUPPORT.
