Maplestory is simply a game where you have to have in mind that you will never get 100% of the things playing as normal.
Spend money to get everything, but the real beauty of the game kicks in when you ignore what you truly can't achieve without cash. The game is less, sure, but there's content you can still access without being funded. Party Quests, Commerci trades, events, chatting, quests, crafting...
Sure, it's not the same as paying for a shortcut, but the fact that you slowly build your character with each action is interesting, and if you see hard magnus, for example, as some kind of "legend" instead of an achievable goal, who knows, maybe you'll end up enjoying the rest of the game. And maybe even one day face him with chances.
