personally i prefer the whats gonna be of the most use to me now build and consequently whats gonna be the most use to me through the whole build
also i prefer the max this skill then start the next one (I hate not having skills to their full potential)
ex. I wanted to do a SR first build on my priest but abandoned it early as i wanted to be able to max out my HS asap though i end up using SR moreso on my own (which is more than 50% of the time) but in order for me to be any help to a party its all about the HS... (this will continue to 120 when i can pwn them all with my mighty GENESIS!)
ex#2. With my sin (prior to monster carnival) i maxed out my crit(10 in mastery) then haste for the big numbers early on and the speed to get in more hits faster (as we all know crits have a % to land and so more hits means a better chance to hit high crits) but moved into mastery right after to bring up my base dmg
