Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion
Lamato Wrote:I am actually glad they decided to scrap the Subspace. I mean, I understand that this is a great way to introduce the characters, but the way they delivered it was a bit sloppy imo. I hated how I had to get pretty late into the story just to unlock my favorite characters. However, I do hope they find a replacement for this as the subspace was basically a godsend for casual players.

Subspace was infinitely better than the bullpomegranate melee way of unlocking characters. Play 20 hours to get mewtwo or play through the same mode with 24 times to get game and watch was retarded.

And then you got other dumb crap like having to end with a 2 on the timer to get luigi.

How anyone can consider that better than a story mode baffles me.

Even if you don't like it, you're always going to have to unlock the characters in some order, regardless of a story mode or not, subspace just made it a ton quick, while adding something extra on top of everything else.

(And I apparently need to stop writing a post, then leaving it for hours before I hit submit).

And it would be so darn easy to fix subspace too: Make the stages nintendo themed instead of generic and add enemies from nintendo games. Don't make us replay every level again before we can fight the final boss. Bam, all done.
