Shadow Meld 20: Dodge Chance: 30%, Upon successful dodge,ATK +15 and all attacks performed afterwards will be Critical Hits for 1 sec
Final Cut 30: Active Effects - MP -135, Dummy HP: 20000, Dummy Duration: 90 seconds, Damage Absorbed: 20%. Passive Effects - Dodge Chance: 25%, DEF +60%, M.DEF +60%
Dual Wield Expert 30: Dagger and Katara Mastery: +70%, ATK +30, ACC +15%, Avoid +15%
Passive 70% Avoid/Dodge Chance and only 15% Avoid. This only means Phantom should cap out on the avoid stat earlier than us because they have :
Dexterous Training 1: DEX +40, Avoid +20%, Diligence Lv. 20, Insight Lv. 20
Feather Foot 10: Base Avoid +20%
Mist Mask 10: Additional Avoid Chance: 30%
Carte Noir 20: Upon a successful critical attack, card appears at 100% chance, Damage: 200%, Deck +1. Additional Avoid Chance +20%
50% Avoid/Dodge Chance and 40% Avoid. So yes at the same level unfunded I'd expect the Phantom to get hit less because of the higher % avoid but both of them having around 4.5k luk and max avoid this to me says something is off.
I think some of our Avoid/Dodge Chance is being treated as nothing at all. I used to die a lot before fourth job(like a year and a half ago) even with Shadow Meld, which was understandable because even with 45% chance to dodge 1.5k avoid wasn't enough yet now those same 120 monsters and things that couldn't hit me mere days ago can hit everything I have other than my 120 phantom with about the same consistency.
Actually, DB's would cap out on their total Evasion Rate first before Phantoms.
Sidestep, Shadow Meld, and Mirrored Target (you put Final Cut, lol) all give 70% Evasion Rate in total that manipulates your chance to evade enemies via 'Miss/Guard' animation. The descriptions are incorrectly mistranslated, and Dodge Rate skills typically show their own special animation. Dodge Rate skills also work on a percentage, but it's a flat chance to proc, and isn't affected by the enemy's level, and Accuracy. Both Evasion Rate and Dodge Rate aren't shown in the character stat window. Dual Wield Expert gives 15% Avoidability, which is a 1.15x multiplier off your Avoid stat. It's meaningless when you have 9999 Avoid.
Phantoms would have 40% Evasion Rate (Dexterous Training & Feather Foot), and 50% Dodge Rate (Mist Mask & Carte Noir). Since they have a 40% chance to manipulate their total Evasion Rate, they don't hit the 90% hard cap as early as DB's. With their Dodge Rate however, that means they would only be hit 50% of the time, which is further reduced by their Evasion Rate.
