Well, when the server came out, we didn't have the luxury of meso bags, so EVERYONE was using gachapon items to gain money. (And honestly, if no one has money, who is buying the items?)
I think it honestly depends on what you plan to do with the money. Are you looking to just build a stock of mesos so you won't be running out of pots, etc., for training, or specifically for godly equips, or for the latest craze, leeching?
As was said in the other thread, gachapon is more like the stock market -- the rewards are variable, and highly subjective.
