By your reasoning, pretty much anything currently in currently is boring. Also, if I recall correctly, my friends and I were killing Ergoth in like 10-20 seconds on 3-person runs right before they took GPQ out. and we weren't anywhere near funded back then.
Other than Ergoth, most of the PQ is jumpy quests and puzzles anyway, so god forbid you clear Ergoth in 1 second rather than 30, doesn't really change much. For us who did GPQ right, it was lots of fun, making this one of the best updates in months.
