It is going to be in 3D. Last news about MapleStory 2 is that the PATHEngine is now licensed for the game.
Kavatina Story was MapleStory 3D. But the game was shut down because of lack of management.
I never liked the design of Kavatina so I'm glad about this, lets say it was too modern or pop for my likes. Heck even one of the trailers was about the main jobs rapping...

But I also agree, why going 3D when the game could work perfectly on 2D? it just needs a lot more pixels.
