While a revamped Maple Story might be fun, an actual Maple Story 2 with 3D graphics may be a different matter as a large part of Maple Story's charm is its 2D graphics (For me at least, don't know how many of you love it too).
Maple Story has faced a lot of problems what with it being easily exploitable, having a community that's pretty awful, giving players convenience at the expense of adventure and it has also become a pay to win game which contributes a lot to the current problems. Yet I don't feel making a new game is the right answer because bosses can be given a real revamp that makes them challenging to parties and solo players alike; Colossus comes to mind as it would be awesome dividing your party to each section of a huge boss and having to group up for buffs. Alternatively, a full-party buff system could be implemented.
As for the community, this is common to most MMOs but scamming is another matter since there's a huge amount of high-NX items being bought and sold. This isn't so hard to work out honestly, so long as Nexon Korea acknowledges that people do not want to sell their precious items for effective scraps and makes it safe for everyone from the poorest newbie to the richest trader to trade. This wouldn't solve everything yet but when people are on more common grounds it benefits them more to form friendships and alliances since people from your social standing are going to know who you are, so you're less likely to shoot your mouth off in a mega war.
Finally, for quests I must stress that the one thing I find annoying now is that quests have a chance of getting reset after major patches, and those of us who have earned our Quest Specialist Medals do not like to see quests being wiped out. Other than that, now that the Maple world is made up of diverse characters and a large cast linking all those characters would easily provide enough hours of entertainment to while the time by, provided the story writers are able to make things consistent along with giving each character a slightly more than two-dimensional personality.
That's a lot they could fix to bring some feeling of the old Maple back without doing silly changes like making it harder to earn EXP after spoon-feeding players for years since it's not the same thing.
I did watch your video but while I admire your animation skills it does remind me too much of other games and not of Maple at all even if it were in 3D.
