It is like in Final Fantasy in the fact that if you have four characters dependent on physical damage, and then suddenly the monster your attacking absorbs physical damage, then your screwed.
Though, like someone mentioned earlier (so sorry, I forgot who said it
), mages have basically share no benefits to the party they are in if they are fighting a boss - since Nexon loves to screw them over and make everything resistant. >.> I could be wrong about the effectiveness of mages in bosses, but I'm just going by what I read - I'm not a mage. =/ANYWAY, on topic: Please god, no jump quests. They make me very angry. I have no patience for jump quests.
