Maplestory is the only game my girlfriend can really play that keeps her attention. She has motion sickness, and she loves cute things, maplestory hits her sweet spot. She's much better at detaching herself from it emotionally than me though. Frankly that and the waiting for the blade and soul to be released are my two biggest reasons I tolerate it. I'm hoping the motion sickness she has doesn't impair her from playing B&S, as it's not in a first person view.
Considering the simplicity of maplestory, it's only a bad game if you emotionally indulge in it. I don't know how you can nowadays, most people that play, in my server at least, can't really hold my attention for more than 5 minutes. Stale jokes, constant begging for emotional support as they failed something, or something stolen, down to bragging about damage/money/level. There's no longer substance in the general community and it's quite sad.
