Study Methods

Lucky I guess. When I run into a problem, I have the information and tools needed to solve it. Back when I was like 6, I came across a multiplication table in the living room. It was my sister's, and I didn't know what it was. I just looked at it, and it was like watching a puzzle being put together piece by piece in my head, but like in fast forward. Took a minute, but I learned what I was looking at. Each "piece" of the puzzle was a deduction of how the numbers were related. Piece didn't fit, so that wasn't it.

EXAMPLE: 8 and 8 would meet at 64. Those numbers were all related in some way, so I devised a test and it used it with other examples. It checked out, so I learned how they were all related. 8 and 8 were the factors, 64 is the product. I didn't know what it was until later on I asked, and knew it was called multiplication.

It's weird. I watched a documentary on savants, and some guy associates colors and shapes with mathematical problems. As in, when he sees an equation, he sees colors in his mind, and those help him devise a strategy to mentally produce a conclusion. I figure my way is similar, but I wouldn't call myself a savant. I'm too apathetic to be a savant. Unless something seems important enough for me to know, I don't care to learn it. Learning how to speak Swahili doesn't seem to be of any use to me, as my chances of meeting somebody who only speaks Swahili are slim. Therefore, I don't learn the language.

EDIT @ Kevo: I think I may have worded that a little oddly. An example of knowing the correct spelling of vocabulary would be like a year before I'd have the test, I'd see the word. I remember the letters in order, do any research I'd have to do to know what it means or is, and it just sticks. Most of vocabulary was a thing with etymology. Just breaking it down into parts and defining those parts separately, then piecing them together to get a compound definition, ultimately resulting in the correct form.

Like I said, it has to be pure luck. That, or all of the schools I've attended have a Geico curriculum: So easy, a caveman could do it. Every test has been an A. National standardized tests have all been in the 98th percentile or higher, meaning I've scored higher than 98% of all others who took the exact same test. I've yet to take ACTS or SATS, so I can't tell you what my score is on either of them. Don't plan to attend college, as I'm able to live well off without a degree in a particular practice.

Did you skip any grades? Not attending college is a bad choice though. Society doesn't seem to work that way. Even if you're a genius, they might not recognize it. Plus, you may actually learn not information but another perspective that you may not gain just by reading or other stuff.

I usually study by reading over the material, and doing homework and paying attention in class really helps lower the need to study. This is a pretty inefficient way though, so I tend to get lazy as it starts to take too much time and just stop. I tried other methods but I gave up very quickly.
