There's the problem. If you swing like crazy, it's not going to be fun. Why would you even do that? You don't do that in real life if you use a sword, do you? If you slow down and properly plan and aim your strikes, you'll have a much more interesting time.
This is also a reason why I can't stand to watch people play this game on Youtube. It drives me nuts. Those movements aren't even natural.

Swordplay has 9 basic strikes that Skyward Sword utilizes. You're missing out on more than half of them.
