Also, a bipartisan group of House members proposed an alternative to Protect IP and SOPA bills, which is called the Online Protection and Enforcement of Digital Trade Act (OPEN). They even posted their bill online for the interwebz community to see and allow them to give their input. At this point in time, I just came across this bill, and have yet to see whether its a legitimate alternative.

Just from quickly skimming over it, still seems like a complete pile of bullshit.

Not a lot of people in my community know about this bill, which could be a good or a bad thing depending how you look at it.

I've only seen one commercial for it, but thats all I've seen in non-instant media.

Now all of the big 3 have reversed their support for SOPA. That's some decent news.

The big three are still part of ESA which supports it. They're just getting off the sh'it list.

I'm half genuinely impressed because I've been holding Sony in really bad light due to past incidents, half sarcastically.

The problem is nearly every representative i've tried to contact (like a week before christmas) has given me and my friends the same copy and pasted bull pomegranate ever. Then we got dumb asses who don't understand the bill trying to push it forward and deal with the consequences later.

Mine just gave me an automated message that it was received... 3 weeks ago, and nothing since.

Reddit on Bloomberg about SOPA. Pretty satisfactory even though I would've loved to hear more explanation on HOW it's bad instead of restating that it's bad.

We've heard plenty of the same old arguments, but I bet the masses still have next to no idea how those things make sense.
