Playing POKEMON for Charity~!!

These guys who call themselves speed gamers are attempting to catch all 493 pokemon in 73 hours. So far they're raised over 7500 dollars and all donations are going to cancer research.

At first i was really ecstatic about such an endeavor. I pointed my browser towards that URL. First thing i heard. Guess what it was.

493 Pokemon, that means all of them. Legendaries included. My guess is they're having others trade them the event Pokemon.

From the FAQ:

How are you going to catch [Pokémon]?

Event Pokémon are gathered ahead of time. Pokémon from certain games are acquired from those games, live. The final DS card will have a complete Pokédex and all of the final evolutions

So yeah i guess they include legends.

I remember watching them do this last year.

These guys did a Pokemon marathon a while ago, but it was completing one game from each generation (I-III) in a row. It was better, IMO.

They had something like this locally around my area but it was with Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic trading cards.

Everytime someone beat a 'Master', they would donate money to some charity.

Cool stuff though.

Why go through all the trouble of being a no life if you could just ask people to donate?

Strange people would donate money to charity only if people are playing Pokemon.
