Which Knight of Cygnus has top DPS?
#1
I want to make a bossing char on MSEA, so I was wondering which Knight has the best single-target DPS.

They won't be out for a while; maybe sooner for MSEA. But, I think strikers have pretty high DPS..

Soul Warriors have fairly high DPS, having a Charge-style buff as well as Advanced Combo and Brandish. I'd imagine Nightwalkers have similar DPS to NLs, but with a level cap of 120 wouldn't be that useful in bossing due to restrictive HP.

Soul Masters. Poast

Soul Warriors. Their high HP plus BRANDISH plus a Charge + both Combos = crazy strong sonuva-guns.

I think Windbreakers with SE are going to be up there.

Brandish + Final Attack + Advanced Combo + Soul Charge definitely outstrip Windshot/Hurricane + SE. Unless it's possible to Windwalk after each Windshot

I highly doubt that. You can Windwalk after each Windshot. L> exact mechanics of Advanced Combo for Soul Warriors, though.

Oh, and however fast Final Attack is for Brandish.

I guess I could learn to calculate DPS so I could get a more factual answer...

Or is there anyone that wants to do it for me? Shine

Strikers are definitely up there, what with Lightning Charge and a real critical.

Well, three of 5 Cygnus classes have an innate critical skill. Soul Warriors don't, but they are probably the strongest solo 1v1 attacker, so it's hard to say. Flame Wizards don't even come close and are the only class that can be completely discounted.

It's really difficult to say without exact data on how fast the skills are and how certain skills work.

We have enough information about Windbreakers and Soul Masters, because of the timed delay on Wind Shot/Magnum Shot and Brandish's speed from Heroes. However, we lack Final Attack Speeds, which could always be assumed to be the same as Slash Blast/Power Strike. It's considerably fast, and it definitely contributes to their damage output, as opposed to hindering it like Slash Blast's does. Advanced Combo, not sure what data we have on that so far.

Like I said before...

Why would Soul Masters be using Final Attack?
Reply
#15
Because they have Final Attack, and it is a passive skill, making it impossible not to.

Soul Master's FA is a buff. It isn't passive for them. Also, the main skills they use are incompatible with FA.

Apparently their Brandish is.

Why do Hermits use Shadow Parter? Why do Buccaneers use Energy Charge? Why do Bow Masters and Marksmen use Sharp Eyes?

It is written in the Cygnus skill tables thread and was discussed there for a little bit I think.
