Why do you play Maple?

Friends, and nothing better to do. Also, I wanna accomplish some of my in-game goals... such as getting an HT pendant.

I used to be very competitive, but done with that... ever since people who joined a year before me are already 80 levels ahead of me. T.T

Gaining levels is nice as well, but its not a main reason I play

I have never played any other MMORPG's. I worry if people are taking them even more seriously than people take MS...

I play because it is a game, and it is meant to be played.

I play because I quite honestly have nothing better to do with my time.
I have, however, made one or two insanely wicked awesome friends.

....Been playing since beta though and only having made 2 memorable friends saddens me.
Ah well, quality over quantity.

I started playing and continue to play because i'm a (mostly) stay at home mom. For those who don't know, if you're not into dora the explorer, or anything on noggin, it's really really boring.

I love 64 Zoo lane & Maggie and The Ferocious Beast.
Dora the Explorer ...not so much.

Man, I'm a damage whore. I wanted to compete with everyone in the server, but its empty and there's no competition....

I graduated from highschool about a year ago. Since then, I lost contact with a bunch of my friends. The only friends I see nowadays are the people I skateboard with. I'm on Maple because either no one wants to skate or hang out. Or partay.

I really don't understand questions like this. There are no purposes for this game. We do not make time to play the game. We play the game when we have time. Its a time waster, Simple as that.

I play MapleStory cause I can and its free.

What does one really consider a waste of time? If you break it down, everything that we do is a "waste of time". What are we doing here? We're posting on a forum so that the little number beside posts goes up, so that we can discuss a topic that is a waste of time. Cant that be considered a waste of time as well?

I digress. For many people, MS is a place where they can escape reality, where they can just get away from the problems of life and just forget about it, even for just the moment. And really, I see no problems in that. We all have problems in life and there are always times that one can just go to himself "I just want to leave it all and be worry free and not have to deal with it for now". For many people, that's what maple is for them.

As for myself, why I play is because I see that there are people out there like that. People that need others to care for them and help them carry those burdens. People who need friends to help them with their troubles in life and whatnot. Perhaps that's one of the reasons I make videos: To show people and send the message that there is hope in life, that there are people out there that are with them every step of the way, that there is purpose in life and that there's no need to run from the troubles (I know its not very clear but that's the message behind it... If you notice, there's always a little quote at the end of my videos). This all leads me to this:

it's really me...
I play on a private server (because I can't access GMS from Hong Kong)
and some wondered if i was an imposer too... :l

The only reason that keeps me away from quitting Maple is friends =P

Umm... I play because I like customisation and skills and all that jazz. Its ok once you get used to all the repetition.
