As far as I can tell there's no way to get back to the "conference" version of the map to talk to Cygnus there.
What am I missing out on? >_>

Edit: So, the reward for the quest was seven 2nd job SP, allowing me to max everything, an SP reset, and this fancy "Union Staff" you can see over in the extraction topic. Came with potential on it, too.
Neat, I guess.

You get back to the conference room using the Mirror of Dimension (the PQ portal thingy), and that's the Cygnus you talk to.
