MapleStory on 3G?
#1
Well I read an old topic that said Maple used very minimal bandwidth, only 1-3 Kbps dowload and 1-3 upload per second. If you had an unlimited data plan and used a cell phone to link a laptop to the Internet, could one technically play MapleStory almost anywhere in America using 3G? I'm gonna try it when I get home from vacation. Smile

I've tried it for the sake of testing before. I'm from Canada, so my tethering speeds arent as fast, but my internet speed is capable of roughly 2 mbps on speedtest, and when I go on maple, I do not lag at all, so you should be fine. However, make sure that your unlimited data is unlimited data, and not unlimited browsing (not entirely sure on the terms). With unlimited browsing, it means basically whatever you can do on your phone is unlimited, and would not include tethering.

I tether my phone to play maple all the time. Works perfectly fine, just dont plan on going to fm ch1 or anything... or something like zak and you should be fine.

I play regularly on a tethered phone. When my computer still worked, there was just a small amount of lag in FM ch 1 entrance, and no lag when fighting Targa and Scarlion at the same time.
