TheSmartGuy's Permanent Beginner Guide
#21
TheSmartGuy Wrote:Almost every beginner over level 85 right now is a leecher, but I still see threads on many Maplestory forums talking about cool they are. I think the point is that a level 81 beginner is unique while a level 81 priest isn't. Besides, like I said, it's pretty much impossible to train a beginner that high level anyways.

I did it.
Nothing too hard.
I just got tired of the addiction.
I might start back up soon.
Not in an addicted way like before, though. Big Grin

By "impossible" I meant "takes so long that 95% of the Maple population will never even consider it".

Lol, I see what you mean but I'd say the statistics should be lowered.

I must say, you are an elite guide writer. Though I don't plan on making a perma, the exchange quest info and other stuff will help with my pirate. I'll need about 30m to get my pirate from 11 to 30, since some people charge more than 200 mesos per and Im going from 11 to 30, not 15 to 30. Yeah.

But anyways, extremely nice guide.

EDIT: According to my information, which may be slightly off... if you buy 1 EQ item for 200 mesos, leveling with the EQ will cost...:

Level 10 to 30: 21,822,960 mesos
Level 30 to 40: 68,559,040 mesos
Level 40 to 50: 183,559,120 mesos
Level 50 to 60: 365,166,640 mesos
Level 60 to 70: 622,579,920 mesos
Total level 10 to 70: 1,261,687,680 mesos

So, if you're some rich bish, you got 1.2b to blow, and you want a high level beginner (or pirate *cough*), just go spend 1.2b on EQ items.

Oh, the Exchange Quest thing now.
To me, there's no point in doing it for the lower Levels.
It's so easy to get to Level 70 now.
Just PQ constantly.
It takes too long to go through all the chats whenever you're doing the Exchange Quest anyway. :/
It's virtually impossible even trying to getting to Level 70 that way. (To me, anyway)

Yes, getting to 70 with EQ is a huge waste of time and money, but getting to 30 is worth it. Seriously, 22m isn't hard to make, and it doesn't take that long getting to 30.

It... doesn't?

Are you adding the time you'd be spending scouting FM for EQ items?
Are you adding the time you'd be spending going to shops to NPC everything EQ has given you as your inv is full?
Are you adding the time you'd be spending clicking, scrolling down the list of items etc?

I've EQd from 10 to 30... It takes a long time.

Shopping the FM for EQ takes almost no time, if you have a smega/owl of minerva. If you're level 10, you shouldn't have much to NPC. Especially if you store some EQ items on mules. The time spent clicking isn't much, for me it's still a hundred (hyperbole, so what?) times faster than grinding. And you make back some of that money.

a. You lose money usually, dependant on what EQ item you use.
b. You need like 100,000 EQ items to get from 10 to 30 - even with an owl I don't see that many EQ items being in FM at any one time, let alone you being the only one to buy them.

You pretty much always lose money, but you gain SOME back. Also, it helps with pots. EQing from 16 to 20 I had enough pots to last me til 23. For me, it isn't hard to get lots of EQ items. May be different for some people, but I guess I just have luck finding tons in one store. But whatever, let's stop this argument before it gets ugly Sad

TheSmartGuy Wrote:No, I still think Shaox's guide is better. His actually tells you what to wear, instead of just listing every common-class equip in existence. Same thing goes with his training sections, too. And he wrote huge articles about exactly how much accuracy you need at specific levels. Unfortunately, the guide is outdated. Oh noez. Frown

Shoax's guide was overly-opinionated, and had too many fillers. Most of the details in his guide were either repeated a lot or had no purpose. His accuracy table was completely off as well, and his formula was incorrect. He included details on equipments that were seemingly pointless. He would list an equipment to wear, then go on for 3 paragraphs telling why you should wear it. There is no point in having to explain why to such an extent. If you were to cut away fillers/pointless information from his guide, it's nothing.

Advertising guides on someone else's guide topic is fail.

I'm not advertising. I posted the guide so other beginners can also have an oppurtunity to see another guide if they wanted to. I don't make guides to advertise everywhere and become known, I make them to help beginners. Not every beginner is corrupt and want to be famed and known in the community, and i'm one of those. So please don't hop on the insult train before you know my purpose of why I posted the link to my guide.

Haiken, posting a link to your own guide in someone else's guide topic is not very nice. You're free to your own opinion that you supplied, of course, but posting a link to your own guide here is just as good as posting your own guide in someone else's guide. Yes, it is offering Beginner's another guide to look at, but it is very rude to the topic creator who has spent time creating his own guide as well, whether or not you think it's good. I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate it if other people posted all of their Beginner guides in your own guide topic at invisionfree.

If you want to post your own guide, feel free to create a new topic about it.
