Idle
#1
Simple but effective addition. If you're afk for a moment of time, your character goes into the idle state. Two things can activate the idle state; either you don't input any user inputted commands for 2 minutes (you don't click or press any keyboard keys) or you use the same exact pattern of input in sequence continuously for 2 minutes. Once you're in the idle state, several things happen:
1. Your character's name appears grayed-out on your buddies' buddy lists, your guildmates' guild listing, and your alliancemates' alliance guild lists.
2. Your character's name will have a sleep (zzzz...) symbol next to it in your party members' party window.
3. Your character becomes slightly transparent; this feature can be turned on and off both for your own character's appearance to others while idle and the way you view other idle characters.
4. You cannot be damaged by any monsters not naturally spawning in the map or naturally summoned in the map (zakum and its summons in its altar, etc.).
5. You cannot be damaged by the environment in El Nath and Aqua Road.
6. You cannot gain any experience, including stage clearing in party quests.
7. If you are inputting a pattern of button presses, they no longer take effect (holy symbol, spamming advertisements, etc.).
Edit: 8. If you have a omok or match card game set up, it automatically closes.

What do you think about this? :o

Seems very useful. But what about shops?

It would put a hamper on people who summon monsters to kill afkers. :d

I'm assuming it would not work in FM, and even if it did, it would not affect the sale of items.

This idea sounds very nice to me ^__^ Glitter

Not letting you get summoned on is the point =p and how would it affect shops?

I added another one, this one makes it so that you can't set up a fame plox game in a town and afk with it.

Well, wouldn't people in shops have "zzz"s on them?

But what if you want to make a "afk leave message pl0x" game?

How about those people who afk in HHG1 with a meso magnet?

The zzz symbol is only for party lists, and do the afk leave message plox games really have much of a point? Those afk pet looters can stay that way because nobody really afk loots anymore, and the people who don't gain much.

Wouldn't this mean that people can just afk at zak and wait for it to die or something?

Ah...right. Sounds great. Cool But it might kill afk leechers Rolleyes

"afk leave message pl0x" has a point. If, say, a guildie wants to say something to the afker, he/she can just leave a message in the game room, because the afker might not see the message if the guildie said it in guild chat.

So, if you press a button, you snap out of idle mode?

Yeah, pressing anything makes you come out of idle if you went into idle by inputting nothing for 2 minutes. For the afk message thing, nexon should just make a separate offline messenger I guess, like how when you get expelled from your guild or invited to a wedding while offline.

Sorry, I should've worded it better. The example corresponded to "naturally summoned in the map." You probably know that zakum and its summons don't actually spawn in the map. Zakum is summoned by the eye of fire + platform, and its summons are summoned by it. The small blue ones are summoned when a big blue one is killed; that's what I meant by naturally summoned in the map. Unnaturally summoned in the map would be things like jr. balrogs or aliens in the zakum map, and idle people would not be hurt by those.

I'm going to list how each feature would help the game, just in case people can't tell.

1. Your character's name appears grayed-out on your buddies' buddy lists, your guildmates' guild listing, and your alliancemates' alliance guild lists. -> helps people know you're afk.
2. Your character's name will have a sleep (zzzz...) symbol next to it in your party members' party window. -> same
3. Your character becomes slightly transparent; this feature can be turned on and off both for your own character's appearance to others while idle and the way you view other idle characters. -> same, though can be turned off if it's annoying.
4. You cannot be damaged by any monsters not naturally spawning in the map or naturally summoned in the map (zakum and its summons in its altar, etc.). -> so that you don't get summoned on and killed while afk.
5. You cannot be damaged by the environment in El Nath and Aqua Road. -> so that you don't accidentally die in those two areas.
6. You cannot gain any experience, including stage clearing in party quests. -> no more afk leeching.
7. If you are inputting a pattern of button presses, they no longer take effect (holy symbol, spamming advertisements, etc.). -> no more botting hs, hb, etc. muling.
Edit: 8. If you have a omok or match card game set up, it automatically closes. -> no more fame plox game rooms.

Afk leechers are gonna be Hothead if this Glitter rule gets implemented. It would be cool Shine to have this in my opinion. Wink

Nice idea! If this was implemented in MS, I wouldn't have to worry about getting bagged (killing others by summon sack) by other players =P

I like it. And the part where you can't be hurt by some monsters, it would help if it could work with zakum. Then people wouldn't waste 35mil. Biggrin

I've had this idea before, not exactly the same, but same in essentials. The one thing I was afraid of was hackers somehow finding a way to make it on and let you attack, then script kiddies getting their hands on it.

It's only when monsters are summoned by other players. Besides, you can't NOT do anything for 2 minutes at Zak. You'll just simply die.

I'm assuming using your mouse too would snap you out of it too? If it didn't, then it kind of demolishes the point of using summon bags to defeat Party Quest Acers.

Yessssss. Please. This would easilly solve leeching for one, and two, it would let you know if someone were AFK, that way you don't have to spam countless times to get their attention.
