8x Drop?

As I'm sure everyone is aware, 8x Exp was patched long ago, so that the 2x exp event does not stack with family rep. Also, for the longest time the 2x drop events did not work, and these recent events are the first ones that I can remember that are working properly.

Anyways, I have been using 2x drop rep, along with the 2x drop event and 2x card, and have been noticing an increase in drops over that of my normal 4x drop (minus the event). Typically, I would find around 6-8 PoTs per hour, on average. During the events though, this number is roughly doubled; 12-16 PoTs per hour, and even a few times I have found over 20 PoTs in 1 hour (I have never come anywhere near that on normal 4x).

Basically, for me these have been some extreme results, and I know some of people in my buddy list/guild have noticed this too (at least, the ones that I told ). Is the 2x drop event not working properly (i.e. the event is actually more than 2x, and it does not stack with rep) or does the 2x drop rep seem to stack with the event currently? Anyone else here had a similar result or noticed a difference when using 2x drop rep?

I didn't pay much attention, but I think they said during their 2x events, if one buys a 2x card, they get an extra 2x to it making it 8x drop. So family buffs have nothing to do with it, and it's just the event bonus that's being applied.

edit: If that didn't make sense, here's my paraphrased quote: "We're going to have some free 2x events. And if you buy a 2x card during the 2x event for 4x, we'll put a 2x in your 2x on 2x, so you can farm PoT while you farm PoT... I mean so you can have 8x"

So either Card + event = 8x, or double cards stack... IE 1 card + event = 4x, 2 card + event = 2 * 2 * 2 = 8x, etc.
Neither seems like it should work that way...

I would hardly call it luck, at least statistically. I waited on creating such a thread to ask others this question because I wanted to test it out over several days of 2x drop events; the results have been nearly the same, with roughly twice as many PoTs being dropped in comparison to typical 4x drop periods. I mean, there have been 8 days of 2x drop events, and at 2 hours each we are talking about 16 hours total.

Hmmm, I read that I think they were just trying to say that the two stack together (as your second edit states), and not some add in bonus. It would seem odd for the to double, double the card just because of an event.


Surely I cannot, and those in my server I have told about this (and many of them seem to agree with me), been the only one to notice this. No one else farms things during these events lol :f6:?

well easiest way to test for this would be to find a mob that drops an itme 12.5-24% of the time. If it fails to drop, 4x is max ( or 2x...), if it consistently drops, then 8x is plausible.

And thanks to certain events we have drop %s of some mobs, might I suggest Nightmares who supposedly drop Firewood 20% of the time.

Pretty sure they meant "quadruple the [original] drop rate".

Wait we do have 2x drop event? I thought it doesn't exist.

If the 8x drop you propose is possible and indeed working, and you were a clever little monkey, you'd be able to earn 16x drop if you happened to have one of the various monster card buffs that give you "increased meso/drop rate". An obvious exploitation of this would be Drum Bunnies. I dare you to NOT get a chaos scroll during a 16x drop session.

The only drawback would be having to try to tip-toe around picking up the invitable duplicate monster cards.

fran you use taunt during your hunting right, maybe you should apply it into your calculations. not everybody can farm 20pots an hour

I'm lucky if I get 1 PoT per hour on 1x in the hours I've trained at TT.

If this is true, I gotta take advantage of this before they patch it. Maybe that ZMM card will drop finally (or who knows, Iblis or somethign to make up my wasted time there)

Who knows when our next 2x drop event will be. I wouldn't be too worried about it.

2+2 = 5 for large values of 2, but for large values of 2, the most i can be is ~6.25

That is a pretty insane drop rate for you, especially when most Heroes I know can't get half that. Best I have gotten in a normal 4x period of 30 minutes is 8 (or 16 during the event, hence the thread), and that is with Taunt/haste (so 5.6x drop and faster movement). You gotta be pretty much OHKOing to break any faster than that :f6:

Yes, i can kill them fast (rush + brandish, or rush + brandish + rush), and with my equips, i have "haste" all the time (140 speed and 123 jump). I didn't mention it, but just as i got a lot of PoTs sometime, other times i get crap... So far in 4x drop the lowest i got was 1 in 30 minutes, which is pretty bad.

Now that i got to 200, i will finally have more time to hunt pieces.
