Maybe someone can help me?

Alright, so ever since I saw the new Aran video there has been the memory of a RPG I played a while back like it. But I just can't seem to place it.

Basically when you first start the game your character(s) are power enough to kill all the monsters, but after meeting up with a boss you either fall asleep or get beaten you wake up you're weak.

Anyone have an idea of what this game is?

Could you try to be more specific? Which system it came out for, etc.?

I'm pretty sure there's a few games that do something along the lines of what you described, but for some reason I can only think of Lufia I and Secret of Evermore at the moment.

 Prologue of Lufia I

Intro scene of Secret of Evermore

Neither of those two are the game I am thinking of. And I wish I could be specific, but that's all that is in my head.

It's going to annoy the hell out of me until I figure it out.

So just now I was looking over at TVTropes to see if they had a name for this, and guess what? They did! It's called A Taste Of Power.

There's a list of games in there, I hope you can find the game you were thinking of now.

None of those games on that list trigger my memory, but it could be a simple fact that I can only remember the scene itself.

But at least I have a list to go on, I'll play through the games on that list and see if I find the one I've been thinking of.

Anyway, thanks for that link.

That's actually a pretty generic way to start an RPG.

Yeah, that list triggered me a lot of games starting the same way.

But damn, that list is 10/10 anyway. I'm getting a lot of them to play right now.

True, but whatever this game was it made a specific memory in my mind.

That was one of the first games I thought of, but that isn't it. I'll find it out one day and I'll feel stupid for forgetting it.
