How do you Solve a Rubik's Cube?

I knew a guy who had a 4x4 and 5x5 cube too. Solved 'em in minutes.

I tried the 4x4x4... it's way harder because of the fact that there's no definite center, at least to me. With directions it took me about an hour.

Still using the site, but yeah it's a lot of work to memorize.

i can solve it in about 40 seconds =]

usually most people follow a set of rules

1)white cross
2)white side
3)2 layers
4)yellow cross

then after, most people have a lot of different ways of solving the rest of the cube

i myself can solve it in like 25 sec average, and true it's a lot about memorizing algorithms and recognision.

I use Petrus, and only 28 algorithms. I can solve in 23-24 seconds average.

Can't believe I didn't see this thread earlier while I was on this forum o_O

I suck at Rubik's Cubes and I'm Asian (lol)

Anyway, the most I've got is the bottom layer done and only 1 side not done in the middle layer. Then I usually give up and throw the cube back at my friend who solves it.

Well, I felt that someone had to make a thread about them in a section with a name like this. xP
I've seen shows/articles that mention "algorithms" to solving them. People that practice can solve them in under ten minutes easily, the world record is barely over ten seconds.

Does anyone know how to solve them? When ever I try Google, the sites are difficult to understand. :/

Lol. I take about 40 seconds on average, my personal best is 31 seconds. My classmate can do it in 20 seconds >_> Its not really hard, just go to YouTube and watch vids and learn
