Question on private servers

I've heard that you can get banned from the real MS if you download a private server, and I was wondering if this was fact or fiction. I was looking up pirates on youtube, and I saw that some private servers had the pirate job already and me and a friend we're going to try it. Before I get to ahead of myself I want to know if you can get banned from the real MS. If you can then i'm not even going to bother, and i'll just be patient.

The reason I never have downloaded one was due to the fear of being banned from the live server. My friend aznpriderlz was "iP banned" for downloading a private server. Well atleast thats what his friend is telling me.

Private servers can be discussed so long as it does not involve advertising or talking about the implementation of one. This topic is fine.

Anyway, there's no way that Nexon would ban you for being a part of a private server.
