Nintendo Wii

[SIZE="2"]Not sure if this is the right spot but here it goes... I have been wanting to get the Wii for months now but haven't seen anything that looks like a good deal. Well today, I came across this and was just kinda wondering if it seems like it's even worth it for me to buy. The price of this bundle is $399.00. Also, either way when I do finally get one, how do I go about getting it connected to the internet? Will I have to buy anything separate and pay my internet provider or someone else? Any help about this would be super appreciated.

Well, seeing how it doesn't come with any games (Wii Sports will bore you in ten minutes), you'll probably find yourself paying around $500 for two worthwhile games. I, personally, don't think this is a good deal at all. You're paying an extra $50 for a Blaster, Racing Wheel, Sports Kit, and Backpack, all of which you'll probably never need (Unless you're buying Mario Kart, in which case you can buy a Wii Wheel for like five dollars.)

You're much better off just buying the standard console so you can spend more on games. Here's what you should go for.

As for connecting to the interbutts, all you need is a wireless internet connection and you're all set. It can't connect any other way, I don't think.

if you bought all the stuff in the kit separately (off of amazon loll) it'd cost $352. that list is basically advertising all the stuff that comes with the wii itself, along with about 5 extra additions.

once you get the wii, if you use a wireless router for internet access, you can just set it up to connect to that with no extra devices. otherwise you'll have to buy the nintendo wifi usb connector which costs about $45-$50.

I found Okami to be a great Wii game. Of course, there's things like Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros: Brawl. For a younger child, things like WarioWare and Mario Party seem to be pretty good hits. I'm not an expert on the young child category.

Depending on what you wanna get for the Wii, it has a wide variety of stuff.

I pretty sure Boom Blox could keep the attention of your 7 year old, it's kinda just making pomegranate fall by shooting it with like a marble or whatever. A really simple game overall. Warioware: Smooth moves on the other hand is probably a lot more fun but has a higher learning curve. I don't know that much about Wii Music but I'm pretty sure it's pretty simple, and should be pretty fun. Also another set of games based on mini-game play are Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party, Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, and Rayman: Raving Rabbids. Although, these would have a higher learning curve as well. Possibly higher than Warioware. The last game I can think about is Carnival Games which should be a pretty simple game overall and might do the trick your kid.
