I approve of not going for a hyphenated name, though personally I'd probably prefer something like Parios or Paris, a combination of both your maiden names.

We're adopting, but to adopt from the state you have to foster first. You can't do a joint adoption if you're not married, so marriage is required to ever do more than foster, otherwise we'd have more rights as foster parents.
