The game is pretty Gem heavy if you want to do most of the things. Right now the meta is unholy magress + 4 kikuri. Once Douglas gets his 6* the meta will change to him + Malnaplis 6* (as one of the leads). The JP version is currently going through a ton of updates, giving a lot of units new pretty powerful 6* forms (Sefia, Kikuri, etc).

I'm starting to make other mono-element teams though so that it's easier to get totems. My current lead is a maxed ice goddess selena. Working on getting a stronger overall team so I can take down the miracle totem. Feel free to add me. I'll mostly have selena as a lead with a sacred jewel (+15% all stats) or occasionally bolt knight amy (bolt goddess soon)

Which 6 stars are you specifically talking about? The starter units 6 stars or the ones coming out in JP?

I use a rainbow team for arena - Michelle lead - and a (almost) mono-water team for other dungeons. Working on mono-thunder (to get Karl for my water team) and mono-fire. I've gotten lucky and pulled an Elimo (A), Phoenix (B), and Lancia (L). I also have 6* Lance and Selena, both with SBB unlocked.
I've converted about 10b mesos into gems (not sure how many exactly - also note I use iOS so no Amazon coins for me).
