So me and my mom going to the Apple Store tomorrow (because that's my favorite store) and she allows me every year to get one early christmas present (I still can't use it tuil christmas, but I egt to know what it is
) So she says I can't get anything under 50$, which eliminates all laptops and ipods
but they also sell WoW there
. So, I know it's like the most popular MMO, but has anyone here played it, and could they share their opinions on it with me?tl;dr: Have you played WoW, and what did you like or dislike about it?

WoW is for me just as interesting as MapleStory. I tried to start playing both games (again), but lasted for 3 days on both games.

It's 3d. It's a lot geekier than MapleStory. The visuals aren't as appealing. It's a well-made MMO.
Mixed bag of feelings about it, but overall I prefer MS. I've never played it, and now would be incredibly late to start.

The fun level in WoW lasts for about 2hours. Then you realize you are paying for this pomegranate and might as well play out the subscription. However, if you are a fan of unbalanced everyone plays 3/8 classes kind of games where equipment and skill builds determine if you are useful and actually require a headset then WoW is for you.
tl;dr- WoW's graphics suck, unbalanced, not very fun, equips own the character.

I HATE WoW, HATE. Its a generic Korean-style grindfest MMO, watered down with Blizzard fanboy juices.
That being said, the low learning curve and ease of leveling make it very addictive. I play it off and on, usually in spurts of about two weeks at a time.

First of all, suck? Define suck. Secondly, I can count on one hand how many people play WoW for the graphics. Thirdly, I own a PSone, and play it regularly. Some of my most epic games are on said console. As far as graphics "sucking," the PSone pretty much holds the record. And you're actually the first person I've heard say WoW's graphics suck. >_>

This actually made me snicker just a tad. The game is FAR from unbalanced. Just as in Maple Story, each class specializes in certain things. If the game is so unbalanced, how do people throw great raids together in places like Blackrock Spire, Carazan, Zul'Aman? They're all, to my knowledge, tier 6 raids. You don't make it through raids like those with "unbalanced" classes, it's just not possible, at all. Once again, I've heard WoW called a lot of things, but never unbalanced. Purely subjective. The game doesn't suck just because you don't find it fun. It'd take me two days to name off all of the people I know who quit maple because of the "grind". Some enjoy the grind, some don't. Some enjoy WoW, some don't. Opinions are such great things.

Ok, so tell me how this is ANY different from Maple Story. How do your equips in Maple Story NOT own you? Without equips, my character is nothing; without equips, your character is nothing. That's not an opinion, it's a fact. How the HELL is it any different in ANY other MMO? Hell, in any RPG period. Take a simple game like Super Mario RPG for example. Without keeping your equipment upgraded as you progress through each area, you will get raped by the next boss, royally. That goes without saying. So, claiming that an MMORPG is inferior because characters rely to heavily on equipment isn't even a cogent argument. As long as RPG's exist, equips will have a HUGE bearing on the performance of the character, and that won't change. Try running Zakum or Horntail without equips. And what the heck do you mean weapons, equips, and skill builds determine if you're useful? Once again, how in the HELL is that any different from Maple? Oh right, it's not.

All in all, it just sounds to me like you played WoW for all of 10 minutes and quit. And everyone plays "3/8" classes? My Paladin is currently residing in Shattrath City in the Outland and in any given 5 minute timeframe, I can see just about every class in the game, including the Ally side. So once again, you fail to present a cogent arguement here. The classes are pretty evenly distributed.
Why did I take the time to reply to all of this? Well, it's rather simple really. WoW is an amazing MMO and it's fun factor lasts for more than just 2 hours. If it really sucked that much, why do millions of people continually pay $15/month for it? Oh, I know why, maybe because Blizzard doesn't suck ass like Nexon does. Trust me, I could make this WoW vs. MS arguement much longer than this, but quite frankly, it's just not worth it.
