You should use the ap reset the moment you get it, or use it after 2x is over.

I think the expiration is usually 1 week, although other servers may set different expiration dates. You'll find out for certain when you get it, I guess.

so far, both we have had had an expiration date, the one from the legend shop was storage-able, the one from the event was not.
